The church is led by the pastor and elders of the church. Our church also has first class deacons who lead by serving.

James Sercombe has been the pastor of the church since 2006. He’s previously worked in a high street bank, trained and taught as a primary school teacher and then worked as a chaplain with university students. From the Swansea Valley originally, he enjoys swimming, playing or the scorer for the Glangrwyney Cricket 2nd XI, watching box sets on the telly and most recently, completing WasgiJ puzzles. He is married to Martha with two grown up children and a dog called Zorro.

Graham Bent is an elder at the church, and spent his working life as a senior staff member and Master Inventor with IBM. He continues to work, developing applications for AI. He is married to Diana with four grown children and a dog called Ralph.

Robert Davies is one of our deacons and Crickhowell born and bred. He worked as a solicitor in his family firm in Abergavenny, but now enjoys spending time with his beloved wife Beth, Pepi the dog and his extended family.

Wayne Phelps is our most recently appointed deacon, and is pictured here with his wife, Debs. Raised in Newport, he spent many years in the north of England, working as a social worker and helping to plant churches. He now serves the church in many practical ways and is on the preaching team.

Lyndon Britton, another deacon, is from Nantyglo but now lives in Crickhowell. He no longer plays the drums in a band, but likes nothing better than sitting down with someone and speaking about Jesus.
Others exercise leadership of different ministries in the church.
Our Stay & Play ministry is led by Rhian Shepherd, Jenny Barber and Ann Baynham. These mums are, or have been a District Nurse, a Specialist Nurse and a Midwife so very suitable for responsibility and for showing and sharing the good news of Jesus with the families in our community.

Martha Sercombe, a senior health professional with years of experience dealing with trauma, is the church Safeguarding Lead. If you have any concerns, she can be contacted on 07962222229.
